Installing the Root Certificate with Vista
When compared with earlier versions, Windows Vista requires several more steps to install the CSU San Bernardino Root Certificate.
You may want to print these instructions as you'll be required to close and reopen your web browser.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows (including this one).
- From the Start menu type "internet"

- Right click on the "Internet Explorer" icon and select "Run as Administrator..." from the context menu.

A User Account Control window opens. Choose "Allow". Enter your administrator credentials (if necessary).

An Internet Explorer window opens. Go to http://iso.csusb.edu/download/certs

Follow the "CSU San Bernardino Root Certificate" link.

A security window opens. Choose "Open

Choose "Install Certificate..."

A wizard welcome window appears. Choose "Next >".
- Select "Place all certificates in the following store".

- Choose "Browse...".

In the new "Select Certificate Store" window, check the "Show physical stores" checkbox.

- Expand the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" and select the "Local Computer" folder.
- Note: the "Local Computer" folder is only available when running as Internet Explorer an administrator.
- Choose "OK".

Choose "Next >"

Click Finish.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows.
- Reopen Internet Explorer as you would normally (not as an administrator).
- All CSU San Bernardino secure sites (webmail, MyCoyote, wiki, etc.) will now be trusted by your browser.
