Certificate Requests
Procedures for obtaining digital certificates for individuals and servers.
Servers
Server certificates are the most common type of certificate, typically used for secure (https://) websites. The Information Security Office reviews certificate requests before approval.
Request a CSU San Bernardino certificate
There is no per-certificate cost for these certificates. Be sure to read the information on local certificate authorities.
Request VeriSign Class 3 Server certificate
Upon approval, a request for reimbursement to cover the cost of the certificate will be submitted to the corresponding office.
Individuals
Personal certificates are available through invitation and appointment. Personal certificates are installed on a USB enabled cryptographic tokens, similar to smart cards. Please contact the information security office to make an appointment for a personal certificate.
Special software and drivers are necessary to access the cryptographic token.
